On Saturday 2/25/2017, CrossFit Ridgeway opened its doors for the first time at the Grand Opening! A mix of old friends and new faces showed up for the workout (WOD). Whole-E roasters provided some amazing food for those that hung around for lunch. Less than 2 weeks later, on March 8th a wind storm knocked out our power. Over the next 6 days CrossFit Ridgeway remained closed as freezing cold temperatures forced us to turn the water off to avoid the pipes from freezing. The day power was restored a snowstorm knocked out our heat. Finally, the next day and one week later both power and heat were fully restored. After just opening it felt like I hit a brick wall. However, as any former Marine and CrossFitter would do, I kept fighting to keep our momentum going. As March comes to an end we are back up and running better than ever. Here is a short list of our accomplishments in the past month:
– Carrie Martineau was added as a coach. She will primarily focus on teaching boot camp classes!
– Speaking of boot camp, we just added them to our schedule and pricing plan.
– Members continue to graduate the introduction classes and have already started getting personal records (PR) from their first double under to front squat PR’s.
– We hosted Project Lean Nation where Morgan gave out free meals and nutritional advise. We are super excited to be working with this amazing company that is helping our members achieve their nutritional goals.
Going into April, we are hosting the Manion Hero WOD to benefit the Travis Manion Foundation. We are looking at adding an endurance class and continuing to revise our schedule to meet the needs of our members.
I am loving every day coaching at CrossFit Ridgeway and its exciting beyond words to see my dream come true of owning my own CrossFit box. I can’t believe it has been one month already and I am looking forward to the next month as we continue to accomplish our fitness goals!
